~The Gracchi brothers tried to reform the programs going on in the Roman government, by wanting to change laws and divide power amongst more individuals, particularly the Plebians.
~Through Plutarch's account of the Gracchi brother's family background, it is learned that the men had great strength inside them and their were many layers to the men. They had strength and a will to fight for what they believed based upon their mother, Cornelia and the way she lived her life.
~Both Tiberius and Gaius Gracchus wanted to distribute more power and land to the Plebeians from the Patricians. With the brothers both being a part of the populares, and believing in the common Roman, they angered other members of the optimizes and wealthy Romans all in all.
~I think the Gracchi brothers led to the decline of the Roman Republic because they came in thru the office of tribune and essentially demanded more power, constantly wanted to change the ways the Romans had lived for before that particular time frame.
~The Gracchi brothers might have not understood what it was like to be at the wealthy end and did not realize the resentment that was stirring among many wealthy landowning elites. ~Tiberius fought som hard for what he believed it eventually led to his death and Gaius tried to keep his brother's thoughts circulating through Rome, but by that time many opposers determined their stance and stuck by it, which eventually led to the collapse of the Roman Republic. ~The Gracchi brothers wanted a different approach to the Roman government and many people that have already liked the way the Roman government was set up, felt threatened and did not want the Gracchi brothers, through the office of tribune to influence Roman citizens, and fellow Plebians.
